The Amazing Spider-Man 2
While this looks like a busy movie, despite taking on a number of classic baddies like Electro (Jamie Foxx), the Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and, again, the son of the Green Goblin (Dane Dehaan), I have a feeling that director Marc Webb and the screenwriters will not make the same mistake twice and will structure the film so it doesn't feel too top-heavy. Spider-Man's appeal has always been about Peter Parker's struggles to deal with the guilt and avenge the death of his Uncle Ben while balancing his love life and blue collar family. He also taunts his adversaries with wise-ass remarks, which, judging by the trailer, this film seems to reinforce. But as long as the focus stays on character, along with the undeniable chemistry between Garfield and Emma Stone, who plays love interest Gwen Stacy, then The Amazing Spider-Man 2 should be golden. Watch what I have to say about my second and third picks!

JUPITER ASCENDING
The Wachowski Siblings are visionaries, even when they fail. After the "wow" that was "Cloud Atlas" I'm down for whatever they do. It's the first original sci-fi/fantasy film in forever. (Pure sci-fi fantasy.) I'm excited to enter a fresh new world. Their visuals are always stunning and the cast is intriguing - especially when Channing Tatum has fangs and pointy ears. The logline is "In the future, a destitute human woman gets targeted for assassination by the Queen of the Universe!" THE QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE. Gurrrrrl! Watch the show to see my second and third picks!
